UNESCO International Arts Education week will run between May 25-31st, 2015.  We’ve put together a bunch of resources to make taking part and collaborating with other schools even easier!

Schools from around the world are due to take part. If you’d like to get in on the action – keep reading to learn how to take part and upload!

This year’s theme

This year’s theme is: Arts Education for Sustainable Development. Children from around the world will be exploring topics such as: biodiversity, climate change, cultural diversity, poverty reduction, gender equality, health promotion, sustainable lifestyles, peace, and water sustainable urban development.

How to get involved

1. Plan a lesson

We’ve put together a list of lessons plans, activities and ideas for all ages to help you plan a class based on this year’s theme. You’ll find amazing resources from all kinds of organizations such as NASA and Oxfam right here. Remember you can adapt the plans so that they are suitable for your school.

2. Collaborate

Need any tips? Want to collaborate with other school? Got a great lesson plan to share?  Then let us know on our Facebook group wall.

3. Upload the artwork to Creatubbles

Take photos of the work created in your lesson and upload them to the UNESCO International Arts Education Week gallery on Creatubbles! If you haven’t got a Creatubbles account, you can create one right there (it’s free!). You and your students will be able to explore art from other schools around the world and give young artists comments and feedback on their pieces.

4. Showcase your art

You can use the Creatubbles platform to instantly share your school’s art electronically via social media or email. Share it with parents, other schools or even the local press. Why not embed a link to the gallery on your school’s website?

5.Come back and visit soon!

Remember Creatubbles is free to use. As a teacher you can utilize it to store and share all the art of your students, creating galleries on whatever topic you want. You can also give young artists access to their accounts so that they can continue to explore the UNESCO gallery at home, or add any of their artwork they like to their profiles.
